Codex: Inquisition – comming this November!

Bloody hell, this one appeared out of nowhere!  Today on the Black Library’s website, this appeared.

Finally, following the release of Codex: Adepta Sororitas earlier this month, we are very excited to announce the next digital exclusive codex.

This November, you will be able to download the brand new Codex: Inquisition.

A full codex, packed with background and artwork on the forces of the Imperium’s most secretive and powerful organization. You’ll soon be able to field an Inquisitor and their retinue in any Imperial army in games of Warhammer 40,000.

We’ll be releasing more details on this book through our Facebookpage as the date approaches, so make sure you’re signed up to follow us.
In fact, once we reach 5,000 likes, we’re going to reveal the full cover of the book (so get your friends to sign up to if you want to see it) Here’s a little snippet.

Well, this is indeed welcome! You can read the full article here and if you haven’t already, like GW Digital’s Facebook Page as, unlike the rest of the GW empire, it’s a fantastic source of breaking information.

It’s done, God-Emperor, it’s done!

Well, more or less. The observant among you will notice that the left shoulder pad is bereft of iconography; I’ve varnished the area in preparation for a transfer but that can wait for now. The deadline for submissions is Saturday so I have plenty of time.

Taking the Plunge

After thinking about it for a very long time, I’ve finally decided to post some of my stuff on CMON.  I’m not fishing for compliments when I say that I would only rate my stuff at a four or five, but my main reason for joining is to hopefully get some constructive feedback.  I don’t know if I will, but I think it’s worth the attempt.

You can view my stuff directly by following clicking here

Getting there. Finished the robes, aside from the markings at the bottom and some of the dangly stuff on the front (quiet at the back, I’m looking at you, Bear!) and also got the eyes detailed. I reckon maybe five more hours, give or take.

I promise to blog about something else soon but I’m just so pleased that I’m actually making decent progress 🙂

Anyway, this evening I got some more work done on the cherub, the force staff as well as started to lighten up the Inner Circle robes. I also started to apply some shading to the face.

There’s still much to do, especially in the tidying phase (stupid sneeze), but hopefully I’ll be able to stop boring you with this soon 😉

After a difficult few days away from the painting table I’m happy to say I’ve finally made some progress.

While there’s still a lot of work to do I’m pleased to report that I’ve reached the point where things start to progress quickly and naturally. I’m going to do my best not to rush things though as I’d like to place respectively in the competition 🙂

Managed a little more work today. Started to experiment with the shading on the Cherub Servitor’s skin and made a start on the Inner Circle Robe and some of the metallic effects.

As mentioned yesterday, I’ve decided to enter this month’s Battle of The Brush at Games Workshop Edinburgh. Here’s my progress so far:

Now, although this doesn’t look like much work what you see here is thee different layers of progressively lighter blue with a blue ink glaze on top. Hopefully I’ll have some more progress to show off tomorrow.

I must be crazy…

Every month my local Games Workshop does a Battle of The Brush competition, with the winner choosing the next month’s miniature. This month the miniature in question is the love it or hate it Space Marine Librarian Clampack.

Now I personally love this model so this was a perfect excuse to get one for my inadvertently burgeoning Dark Angels army.

My only problem is that I have what’s technically known as a shit-load of stuff on my hobby desk all crying out for attention however I hope that the 2nd November deadline helps keep me focused.

Anyway, nothing ventured etc, so I’ll keep you posted.
