Sassy Nurgling (and friend)

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?  Wish I could say that my absence was down to nothing but an ongoing cavalcade of awesomeness but I’d be a bigger liar than usual.  Truth is, I’ve been dealing with a lot at work as well as some pretty ugly mental health issues that have escaped their medicated cage and run riot through my skull.

Fortunately, things are getting better inside my noggin (less said about work the better, but it’s manageable thanks to my wonderful team and other colleagues) and as such for the first time this year, nay, this decade I’ve actually finished a model!

Plague Marine Champion 01

Plague Marine Champion 02

These chaps have been sitting undercoated on my desk for months and it felt so very good to finally do them justice.

They’re not up to my usual mediocre standard, however given the gap since the last time I picked up a brush, I’m very happy with the result 🙂

Glad to hear things are looking up for you. Nice work on these two, that sassy nurgling really is a legend in his own lifetime isn’t he! Was never too sure about the plague marine that goes with him to be honest but you might have swayed me in his favour, I definitely like what you’ve done with him 🙂

I´m one to pick up the hobby and let it go in droves all over the years… I’ve recently came back, trying to put together my first army… ever. Nurgle, and came back right to look at your stuff! So, glad to find you back at it, too!
You know… Personally, I find even when years go by without touching a paintbrush it is a bit like riding a bike, and after the first strokes, it all comes back like you carry where you left it… only, to be true, I actually get better on every subsequent Hobby-Crusade.
Then, my old stuff doesn’t look up to par with all the new techniques picked over the years… (Who would have thought thinning the paint was actually a thing?! It was the late nineties!) and then the stripping begins…
I have a Typhus just like your highlighted post, now up there, ready to be painted… again. Shining like it had never received Nurgle’s blessing. Can’t wait! It was looking alright for my standards then… But I’ve learnt so much by not painting! (Truth be told, Youtube tutorials being the key) But then, I have long way to go before being all that good…
