Hellbrute Weekend – Part 5
That’s it for the evening. Not bad for an hour and a half’s work. Still a long way to go!
Once I saw the complexity of the model, I secretly knew I wouldn’t get it done in a weekend. I think I gave it a good go and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I’ll keep plugging away over the week, hopefully it’ll yield results sooner rather than later. Can’t wait to see how it looks finished!
Hellbrute Weekend – Part 4
Today hasn’t gone quite as I’d planned (Doctor Who marathon with my wife this morning didn’t help) however I’ve started the painting process.
Not too far along, standard black undercoat spray followed by a base of Macragge Blue spray and I’ve just started layering up with a drybrush of Caledor Sky.
I’m going to work on it for another hour or so but I have a meeting first thing so it’s an early night for this Warmonger.
Hellbrute Weekend – Part 3
17:35 – that’s the build done.
Wow, that took a bit longer than expected! This wasn’t really a tricky build since, mentioned earlier, the instructions were top notch. However the Power Flail had so many small fiddly parts I had to take things slowly.
Right now I’m waiting for the plastic glue to completely cure then, once I’ve picked up my wife, I’ll get the beastie undercoated.
Hellbrute Weekend
Today I picked up the new Hellbrute kit from my local GW. The plan is to build and paint it over the weekend with minimal distractions. I’ll try to post the occasional update as I go along.
First of all, here are the three sprues.
As with all recent GW products, these are absolutely packed with components and appear to be sensibly laid out, although I’ll be able to report more fully as I build the kit.
What I wasn’t expecting was a redesigned transfer sheet.
I don’t know how much, if any, of this ill use during this project but I’m sure it’ll come in useful further down the line.
That’s it for now. It’s about to turn 15:00 here and I have to leave at 17:45 to pick up my wife. Let’s see how much I can get done!
Multi-Part Plastic Hellbrutes Spotted?
This evening I came across these pictures on the internet. Remember these are unconfirmed so the usual rumour provisos apply.
Are these legit? Well they certainly look so, and the publication appears to be a forthcoming issue of Warhammer Visions.
I’m a massive Dreadnought Whore so I’ll definitely getting some to add to my kit bashed Hellbrute two Dark Vengeance minis.
Chaos Space Marine Hellbrute
After sitting half-converted on my desk, my army’s first Hellbrute is complete.
And, because I’m in the mood to show off, here’s a stock pick of what the kit is supposed to make.
It took me a while to file off all the Corpse God-bothering iconography but I had no idea how long it would take me to get the weapons right! I went through at least five Imperial Guard autocannon barrels before getting the angles right and getting the Sentinel chainswords to fit onto the stump of the powerfist almost made me cry. That said, I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out and I can’t wait to convert a few more!
Hellbrute WIP 2
Tidied up most of the body today and made a start on the arms, enough for me to want to show them off.
I’m very happy with the process thus far and there’s a chance that I might be able to finish this beastie by Saturday.
Hellbrute WIP
It must be this awful hot weather but I’m having trouble focusing on a single project. Last night, I managed to fit in half an hour of painting after family duties and, rather than continuing work on my Terminators I thought I’d make a start on this chap.
I built this well over a year ago and as you can probably tell, it’s based on the old Assault on Black Reach Dreadnought. The arms have been heavily modified but they still need a bit more GS work before I’m comfortable showing them. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it and my Terminators this weekend.
