The Shambling Horde 2: Shamble Harder

Long-suffering readers (hi, you two!) may remember that as part of my Fifty Day Nurgle Challenge back in 2018, I managed to paint up forty Poxwalkers. Since then I acquired three more sprues from Trenchmate Tim from his Conquest sub and over the past week I’ve slapped some paint on.

If you add in the six I painted back in 2017, that gives me enough for three full squads with four models to spare.  More than enough to make Grandfather pleased!

I’ll probably revist them at some point down the line, I love the idea of fielding over one hundred of these chaps 🙂

The end of this part of the project is in sight! I finished these four PoxWalkers today and have started on the final four which I should complete on Wednesday.

Wow, it’s been quite the twenty five years days, hasn’t it?

I’ve managed to finish – you’ve guessed it – four more PoxWalkers today.

It does seem that I’m more or less half way through the project at the halfway point, genuinely didn’t think that would be the case 🙂

Fifty Day Nurgle Challenge – Day 24: The NeverEnding Unit

Please, just make it stop! I’m really beginning to struggle with these PoxWalkers. I got these finished today.

I have twelve more to go and I’m going to power through them. The next three are already base coated so at the very least they’ll be done tomorrow.

Fifty Day Nurgle Challenge – Day 19: Back to Work

Quite literally as I returned to my grown up job after two weeks holiday. Never mind though as I’m determined not to let up until this bloody army is done!

Today I finished up yet another batch of Poxwalkers and, as you can see from the image below, made decent headway on something else…

Fifty Day Nurgle Challenge – Day 9: First Squad Done!!!

Yep, with these four below my first squad of twenty Poxwalkers is done!

While you can probably make out four more on Painting Handles at the back of the photo, I’m moving on to some daemonic models to give myself a bit of a break.

My plan for the remaining ‘Walkers is to do four at a time between other units in order to keep myself sane.

Fifty Day Nurgle Challenge – Day 7: Getting Cross-Eyed

I’m definitely getting into the groove, so-to-speak. Churned out these dudes today:

Yes, I am one of those awful people with multiple Painting Handles, but they’re really good! Seriously, before I’d often get hand cramps after ninety minutes or so painting but now I can carry on pretty much indefinitely.

Well, until either the cat, wife or hunger get the better of me 😉

Once these ones are done I’ll have painted up a full squad so I’m tempted to take a wee break from Poxwalkers and do a special unit or character. I’ll decide tomorrow.

Fifty Day Nurgle Challenge – Day 6

With these four I’m now 30% of my way through the Poxwalkers.

I’d have hoped by now the pace would have increased however I’m still just ahead of schedule.

Fifty Day Nurgle Challenge – Day 4: Back to Work

No sooner had I started, I had to take a couple of days off thanks to some social engagements. But I’m back!

Today I managed to get these dudes done.

I’m now on holiday for a couple of weeks so my plan is to power through twelve more Poxwalkers before moving on to either Nurglings or a character or two.
